APY, TVL, and Categories
Net APY
Net APY is the yield displayed by Monad APR after aggregating known components.
It can include:
apyBase: base yield;apyReward: rewards or incentives;apyUnderlying: native yield from the underlying asset;- protocol-specific corrections or enrichments.
Why APY Can Differ From the Source Site
APY can differ when:
- the source has an update delay;
- Monad APR combines several rows tied to the same pool;
- the protocol shows raw APY while Monad APR shows net APY;
- APY includes temporary rewards;
- the underlying asset generates yield itself.
TVL
TVL is used to:
- rank pools;
- evaluate liquidity;
- detect very small pools;
- avoid overweighting shallow opportunities.
Monad APR tries to avoid TVL duplicates when multiple sources describe the same exposure.
Categories
Categories help users compare similar products:
- Stables;
- MON / LST;
- Lending;
- LP;
- Vault;
- other specialized categories.
One strategy can sometimes look like several categories. Monad APR chooses the category that is most useful for user comparison.
